Informations
In 2022, the public release of ChatGPT introduced generative AI to the world and captured headlines and imaginations around the globe. While generative AI systems can revolutionize the creation, sharing, and consumption of information in ways that enhance people’s everyday lives, their misuse can lead to misinformation that overwhelms useful information and disinformation campaigns, deepfakes, and other manipulated content that aim to misrepresent and confuse, overwhelming people’s ability to discern trustworthy information from mis- and disinformation. The OECD AI Incident Monitor has reported a significant increase in AI-related mis- and disinformation incidents since then, and this has severe consequences for individuals and society. This session will look to galvanize global cooperation in addressing this pressing challenge. A key priority is developing new policy and related technology solutions to address the multilayered and complex challenges that manifest in today’s information ecosystem. We look to identify solutions that counter mis-and disinformation, emphasize resilience in the face of evolving information threats, and foster a healthy, trustworthy information ecosystem. As a first effort, a GLOBAL CHALLENGE ON TRUSTWORTHY AI has been organized to allow various ideas and efforts surface and demonstrate how they propose to tackle this global issue. The panelists will discuss how to move this initiave forward, engaging all stakeholders.
