Inria Chile, together with the Ministry of Science, Technology, Knowledge, and Innovation of Chile and Inria, propose to rethink international cooperation models to prioritize public interest and the inclusive development of artificial intelligence, in the context of accelerating AI development in the Official Side Event of the AI Action Summit, "Franco-Chilean Center on AI: Building Public Interest AI Through International Cooperation".
The rapid development of artificial intelligence demands new models of international cooperation that prioritize public interest and inclusive development while ensuring ethical and responsible advancement of AI capabilities. The recently established strategic partnership between the Ministry of Science, Technology, Knowledge and Innovation of Chile and Inria represents an innovative approach to addressing these challenges through bilateral and bioregional cooperation.
By focusing on open, diverse and locally relevant AI systems, sustainable computing infrastructure, inclusive data governance frameworks, and ethical standards, the partnership demonstrates how bilateral cooperation can be scaled to benefit the broader international community.
In this official side event of the Paris AI Action Summit, high-level speakers will discuss how the innovative Franco-Chilean strategic partnership has created a new model of international cooperation as a platform seeking to advance the development of public interest AI.
Concrete initiatives, actions, and projects aimed at helping to close technological gaps while ensuring the ethical and responsible development of emerging AI capabilities from this alliance will be addressed.
The event will start with opening remarks by Aisén Etcheverry, Minister of Science, Technology, Knowledge and Innovation of Chile ; and Bruno Sportisse, Chairman and CEO of Inria.
It will be followed by a roundtable: “From Vision to Action: Building Sustainable Artificial Intelligence Alliances” moderated by Bruno Patino, Vice President of ARTE GEIE and President of ARTE France.
